“Saudi Arabia played a vital role in preventing India-Pak war”, says Pakistan Information Minister

Date:

Riyadh – Pakistan’s Information and Broadcast minister Fawad Chaudhary thanked Saudi Arabia on Tuesday for playing a vital role in preventing a war and de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan.

“Saudi Arabia moved the rest of the countries such as the United Arab Emirates and the US to play a role in preventing India from escalating tensions with Pakistan”, Chaudhry told Geo News.

However, he accused Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not stepping forward for peace initiatives when Pakistan offered him.

“Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not want to ease tensions with Pakistan and did not respond to Pakistan’s peace initiatives,” he added.

“Modi was trying to exploit the escalation of tension with Pakistan to enhance his political popularity ahead of the Indian elections,” he accused. — SPA
