Syria — 11 people killed and thousands flee after Turkish forces started bombing innocent civilians in the Syria’s northeastern areas, War Monitoring agencies reported on Wednesday.
“Thousands have fled the Ras al-Ain area and Tal Abyad’s countryside to areas that have not yet been hit by Ankara’s warplanes,” Al-Arabiya quoted a UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) organization.
SOHR added that civilian victims were killed in artillery strikes on the city of Qamishli.
On the other-side, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, and Bahrain have called the operation in Syria as “blatant violation of the unity, independence, and sovereignty of Syrian territories.”
Saudi Foreign Ministry specifically called the Turkish operation as a “threat to regional security that undermines international efforts in combatting ISIS”, and Egyptian Foreign Ministry has called for an emergency Arab League meeting to discuss Turkey’s attacks.
However, US President Donald Trump warned Erdogan that he would “obliterate” the Turkish economic if he ever attacks Kurdish civilians.
