Tehran – Top commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Nasser Shabani died due to coronavirus on Friday, IRGC reported.
Ramezan Sharif, IRGC’s spokesperson said that over five key members of IRGC have died due to coronavirus.
Since the beginning of outbreak of coronavirus in Iran, over 22 leading Iranian regime officials have died from virus and 11 others are infected including Iran’s minister Iraj Harirchi.
Reports as of Saturday state that over 611 Iranians have died from virus and there are over 12,000 confirmed cases.
Reports say that Shabani admitted ordering Houthi militias to carryout attacks against two Saudi tankers in Bab al-Mandeb strait in August 2018.
“We told the Yemenis to attack the two Saudi tankers, and they attacked,” Shabani was quoted as saying.
