Saudi Crown Prince to take part in a banquet for Riyadh’s candidature for Expo 2030

Date:

Paris – In Paris on Monday, the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed Bin Salman will attend the official reception in support of Riyadh’s bid to host the 2030 World Expo.

Prince Mohammed also serves as the head of the RCRC, or Royal Commission for Riyadh City.

On June 19, 2023, the night before the International Bureau of Expositions’ 172nd General Assembly meeting, a reception will be hosted in Paris for representatives of the 179 member states of the organisation in charge of the International Expo.

The ceremony is a step in the selection process for hosting the 2030 World Expo.

Before the final vote to choose the host city for this event at the next General Assembly gathering in November 2023, Riyadh’s welcome intends to highlight the capital’s preparation, plans, and initiatives to host the exhibition.

During the reception, which is being hosted by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City, an exhibition will be held to project the historical and cultural depth of the Kingdom and its capital, as well as to highlight the city’s political and economic presence, its unique geographical location, and its exceptional infrastructure, all of which make it prepared to host the most important international events.

Once the continuing construction projects are finished as planned before the Expo begins, its enormous capabilities will also be highlighted in the show.

The exhibition will take visitors on a virtual tour of Riyadh in 2030, starting with their arrival at King Salman International Airport and continuing with a tour of the city’s most notable landmarks and significant projects, such as the Riyadh Sports Boulevard, King Salman Park, Diriyah Gate, and Qiddiya, using contemporary transportation.

The reception will be attended by ministers and high-ranking officials from Saudi Arabia, France, Bureau member states, participants in international organisations like UNESCO, and diplomats from missions accredited to France.

One of the most important international platforms is Expo 2030. Four cities are vying to host it: Odesa (Ukraine), Busan (South Korea), Rome (Italy), and Riyadh (KSA).
