Saudi Crown Prince Launches Soudah Peaks Project, Transforming Mountainous Region into Luxury Tourism Destination

Date:

Riyadh – Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has unveiled an ambitious plan to develop a new project in the picturesque mountainous region of Soudah, aiming to establish a world-class luxury mountain tourism destination.

The project, known as “Soudah Peaks,” will be situated at an elevation of 3,015 meters above sea level on the highest peak in Saudi Arabia, encompassing the areas of Souda and parts of Rijal Almaa.

Soudah Peaks is a significant undertaking by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) and aligns with the country’s broader economic diversification strategy, known as Vision 2030. The initiative seeks to expand vital industries such as tourism, hospitality, and entertainment, thereby supporting the overall development of the Aseer region in southwest Saudi Arabia.

As the Chairman of Soudah Development’s Board of Directors, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman emphasized that Soudah Peaks signifies a new era of luxury mountain tourism, aiming to offer an unparalleled living experience while preserving the region’s natural environment and cultural heritage.

The project is expected to contribute more than SAR29 billion to the Kingdom’s cumulative GDP, create numerous direct and indirect job opportunities, and attract substantial investments.

“Soudah Peaks will be a significant addition to the tourism sector in Saudi Arabia, placing the Kingdom on the global tourism map and celebrating its rich culture and heritage,” stated the Crown Prince. He further highlighted that visitors to Soudah Peaks will have the opportunity to explore the region’s scenic beauty, immerse themselves in its cultural and historical significance, and experience the warm hospitality of the local community.

The project promises unforgettable experiences amidst lush greenery and above the clouds.

The masterplan for Soudah Peaks envisions it as a high-end luxury destination, catering to over two million visitors annually by 2033. The design will incorporate local traditional and architectural styles, showcasing the cultural and landscape heritage of the region.

The project will encompass six distinct development zones: Tahlal, Sahab, Sabrah, Jareen, Rijal, and Red Rock. Each zone will feature a variety of world-class amenities, including hotels, luxury mountain resorts, residential chalets, villas, premium mansion sites, entertainment and commercial attractions, as well as outdoor activities dedicated to sports, adventure, wellness, and culture.

By 2033, Soudah Development aims to deliver 2,700 hospitality keys, 1,336 residential units, and 80,000 square meters of commercial space within Soudah Peaks, solidifying its status as a premier luxury mountain tourism destination.

The launch of Soudah Peaks represents a significant step forward in Saudi Arabia’s efforts to diversify its economy and attract international visitors. With its breathtaking natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, and commitment to sustainability, the project is poised to position the Kingdom as a prominent player in the global tourism industry.
