EV Auto Show Accelerates Riyadh’s Drive Toward a Smarter, Greener Future
Riyadh – The fourth edition of the EV Auto Show opened with great enthusiasm at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, marking another milestone in Saudi Arabia’s commitment to a sustainable and technologically advanced future.
Running from October 27 to 29, 2025, the event showcases the Kingdom’s growing leadership in electric mobility and highlights how innovation, infrastructure, and industry collaboration are reshaping transportation in line with Vision 2030.
This year’s show brought together more than 120 exhibitors from 35 countries, all showcasing the newest models, advanced charging systems, and smart mobility solutions.
The exhibition emphasized local manufacturing, workforce development, and sustainability, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s focus on becoming a global hub for electric vehicle innovation.
The country’s ambitious goal is to make 30 percent of all vehicles in Riyadh electric by 2030 — a key step in cutting carbon emissions by 50 percent in the capital.
As consumer interest continues to rise, new research by PwC Middle East shows that nearly 40 percent of Saudis are considering buying an electric vehicle within the next three years.
The government’s proactive policies, major infrastructure investments, and public-private partnerships are paving the way for this transition.
Faisal Sultan, President of Lucid Motors in the Middle East, noted the significant progress the Kingdom has made in developing its EV ecosystem.
“Saudi Arabia now has a strong structure to support the EV market,” he explained. “Over the past two years, the formation of the EV Infrastructure Company by the Public Investment Fund has created the foundation for rapid growth.
We are collaborating closely with them and other private players to give consumers more options in the next few years.”
He also highlighted Lucid’s contribution to charging accessibility across Riyadh. “We’ve installed chargers in hotels and parking lots that are free to use. This kind of convenience will make owning an electric vehicle easier and more practical for everyone,” he said.
Juan Carlos, CEO of SIXT, praised the Kingdom’s progress in developing its charging infrastructure. “Riyadh now has more charging stations than we have in Madrid,” he remarked.
“The level of support from the government and the pace of development here are impressive. It’s clear that Saudi Arabia is serious about creating a smart mobility ecosystem that is efficient, sustainable, and accessible.”
He added that SIXT has one of the largest rental EV fleets in Saudi Arabia and plans to expand further to meet growing demand.
The expansion of the public charging network has been remarkable — more than 200 charging locations are already operational, with plans to reach over 1,000 stations by 2030.
This infrastructure will ensure that electric vehicle owners can travel across the Kingdom with ease, supporting both daily commuters and long-distance travelers.
The event also featured exciting product launches and global debuts. ROX Motor introduced its luxury all-terrain SUV, the ROX ADAMAS, to the Saudi market following its global unveiling in Abu Dhabi.
Lucid Motors presented its new Gravity SUV, further expanding the range of high-performance electric vehicles available to consumers.
Leading brands such as BYD, Tesla, Chery, Jaecoo, iCAUR, and SIXT also showcased their latest innovations, demonstrating the growing diversity and competitiveness of the EV sector.
Beyond exhibitions, the EV Auto Show served as a hub for collaboration and learning. Industry experts, policymakers, and innovators came together to discuss opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure development, fleet operations, and sustainable financing.
Attendees also had the opportunity to test-drive a variety of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, allowing them to experience firsthand the advancements in performance, technology, and design.
The EV Auto Show in Riyadh reflects Saudi Arabia’s determination to lead the regional transformation toward clean energy and smart mobility.
With strong government backing, an expanding industrial base, and growing consumer enthusiasm, the Kingdom is positioning itself as a major player in the global electric vehicle revolution.
As Vision 2030 continues to unfold, events like this underline a powerful message — Saudi Arabia is not only embracing the future of mobility but driving it forward with innovation, ambition, and purpose.
