Iraq praises Saudi Arabia for combating ISIS

Riyadh – Iraqi Parliament speaker on Monday in Riyadh praised Saudi Arabia and its leadership for helping them fight the terrorist organizations, especially ISIS.

The speaker, Mohammed al-Halbousi was hosted by King Salman in the al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh, where he said, “Saudi Arabia had a major role in supporting Iraq in its war against terrorist organizations, especially ISIS”.

Halbousi also added that “Iraq has passed a difficult stage thanks to the support of Saudi Arabia, which contributed to the expulsion of ISIS from many regions and cities in Iraq”.

Interior Minister of Saudi, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef, Shura Council President Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Sheikh and Foreign Minister Adel al-Jubeir were participating from Saudi’s side, while Abdul Malik, Nahla Jabbar, Nayef Maqif, Sherwan Mirza, Hussein Majid Ali Yousif, Faleh Sari, Ziad al-Janabi were representing Iraq’s side.

Iraqi Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Dr. Qahtan Al Janabi was also present.

Saudi Ministers and Iraqi ministers discussed bilateral relations between both the countries and avenues of cooperation between the Saudi Shura Council and Iraq’s Council of Representatives.
