The Saudi king bestows the order of merit on 100 persons who donated organs

Riyadh – King Salman of Saudi Arabia has given the go-ahead for 100 male and female contributors to receive the King Abdulaziz Medal of Third Class, the Saudi Press Agency said on Monday.

As part of a programme the Kingdom started in 1993, the donors received medals for giving one of their primary organs.

The National Kidney Foundation, formerly known as the Saudi Organ Transplantation Center, was established to coordinate the treatment of organ disease in hospitals and to advance public health initiatives.
