Riyadh – The fourth annual EV Auto Show in Riyadh has become a landmark event in Saudi Arabia’s journey toward sustainable transportation.

With a focus on innovation, collaboration, and clean mobility, the exhibition drew global and regional automotive leaders who praised the show for helping accelerate the Kingdom’s transition toward an eco-friendly future.

The three-day event, which began on Monday, showcased an impressive lineup of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, offering visitors a glimpse into the future of mobility.

Global leaders such as BYD, Lucid Motors, Tesla, Sixt, Chery, iCaur, and Jaecoo were among the exhibitors presenting their latest technologies, designs, and advancements in electric mobility.

The event was described by many as a vibrant hub where technology meets ambition, echoing the nation’s goals under Vision 2030 to reduce carbon emissions and promote sustainable living.

One of the most talked-about attractions was the Saudi debut of the Rox Adamas luxury all-terrain SUV, following its global unveiling in Abu Dhabi earlier this month.

The new model attracted crowds eager to witness cutting-edge design paired with high-performance features tailored for diverse driving conditions.

Representatives from Rox Motors highlighted how the EV Auto Show provided a valuable opportunity to connect with potential customers, industry peers, and investors while expanding the company’s presence in the Saudi market.

For exhibitors, the event went beyond product displays — it became a space for meaningful dialogue and future collaborations. Many participants noted that the show served as a bridge linking manufacturers, suppliers, policymakers, and consumers.

Fast-charging station manufacturer Alpitronic Middle East, taking part for the second consecutive year, expressed great satisfaction with the growing level of interest and engagement from visitors.

The company’s general manager noted that the exhibition was not only well-organized but also served as a strong platform for expanding discussions on e-mobility infrastructure and partnerships in the region.

The enthusiasm among local and international exhibitors reflected a shared confidence in Saudi Arabia’s commitment to electric vehicle adoption.

Jaecoo’s marketing head shared that the event provided a unique opportunity for brands and consumers to interact closely. He emphasized that the show created an excellent environment for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer engagement, allowing visitors to explore new vehicle options and even make bookings directly at the venue.

The high turnout and interest demonstrated a growing appetite for electric vehicles across the Kingdom, driven by increased awareness of their environmental and economic benefits.

Saudi startups also took center stage at the event, showcasing how local innovation is contributing to the nation’s clean-energy goals.

Turning Point Energy and its joint venture, Smart Mobility, have been active participants since the show’s inception in 2022.

Over the years, they have grown from a small startup to an industry leader and platinum sponsor of the event.

This year, they unveiled their self-developed Charging Point Management System, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s ability to build homegrown technology for the EV ecosystem.

Company representatives highlighted the importance of the exhibition in building industry connections and strengthening collaboration among key stakeholders.

The EV Auto Show has become more than just a trade exhibition — it has evolved into a collaborative platform where the future of Saudi mobility is being shaped.

By bringing together car manufacturers, energy providers, government bodies, and financial institutions, the event promotes dialogue and innovation across the electric vehicle value chain.

Participants agreed that Riyadh’s growing role as a host for such international gatherings sends a clear message about the Kingdom’s readiness to lead the region in clean transportation.

As the curtain falls on another successful edition, the excitement generated by the show reinforces the momentum behind Saudi Arabia’s electric mobility revolution.

Exhibitors left the event optimistic, acknowledging that the EV Auto Show continues to play a vital role in inspiring progress, forming partnerships, and supporting the Kingdom’s vision of a cleaner, smarter, and more sustainable future.

Riyadh – The fourth edition of the EV Auto Show opened with great enthusiasm at the Riyadh International Convention and Exhibition Center, marking another milestone in Saudi Arabia’s commitment to a sustainable and technologically advanced future.

Running from October 27 to 29, 2025, the event showcases the Kingdom’s growing leadership in electric mobility and highlights how innovation, infrastructure, and industry collaboration are reshaping transportation in line with Vision 2030.

This year’s show brought together more than 120 exhibitors from 35 countries, all showcasing the newest models, advanced charging systems, and smart mobility solutions.

The exhibition emphasized local manufacturing, workforce development, and sustainability, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s focus on becoming a global hub for electric vehicle innovation.

The country’s ambitious goal is to make 30 percent of all vehicles in Riyadh electric by 2030 — a key step in cutting carbon emissions by 50 percent in the capital.

As consumer interest continues to rise, new research by PwC Middle East shows that nearly 40 percent of Saudis are considering buying an electric vehicle within the next three years.

The government’s proactive policies, major infrastructure investments, and public-private partnerships are paving the way for this transition.

Faisal Sultan, President of Lucid Motors in the Middle East, noted the significant progress the Kingdom has made in developing its EV ecosystem.

“Saudi Arabia now has a strong structure to support the EV market,” he explained. “Over the past two years, the formation of the EV Infrastructure Company by the Public Investment Fund has created the foundation for rapid growth.

We are collaborating closely with them and other private players to give consumers more options in the next few years.”

He also highlighted Lucid’s contribution to charging accessibility across Riyadh. “We’ve installed chargers in hotels and parking lots that are free to use. This kind of convenience will make owning an electric vehicle easier and more practical for everyone,” he said.

Juan Carlos, CEO of SIXT, praised the Kingdom’s progress in developing its charging infrastructure. “Riyadh now has more charging stations than we have in Madrid,” he remarked.

“The level of support from the government and the pace of development here are impressive. It’s clear that Saudi Arabia is serious about creating a smart mobility ecosystem that is efficient, sustainable, and accessible.”

He added that SIXT has one of the largest rental EV fleets in Saudi Arabia and plans to expand further to meet growing demand.

The expansion of the public charging network has been remarkable — more than 200 charging locations are already operational, with plans to reach over 1,000 stations by 2030.

This infrastructure will ensure that electric vehicle owners can travel across the Kingdom with ease, supporting both daily commuters and long-distance travelers.

The event also featured exciting product launches and global debuts. ROX Motor introduced its luxury all-terrain SUV, the ROX ADAMAS, to the Saudi market following its global unveiling in Abu Dhabi.

Lucid Motors presented its new Gravity SUV, further expanding the range of high-performance electric vehicles available to consumers.

Leading brands such as BYD, Tesla, Chery, Jaecoo, iCAUR, and SIXT also showcased their latest innovations, demonstrating the growing diversity and competitiveness of the EV sector.

Beyond exhibitions, the EV Auto Show served as a hub for collaboration and learning. Industry experts, policymakers, and innovators came together to discuss opportunities in manufacturing, infrastructure development, fleet operations, and sustainable financing.

Attendees also had the opportunity to test-drive a variety of electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles, allowing them to experience firsthand the advancements in performance, technology, and design.

The EV Auto Show in Riyadh reflects Saudi Arabia’s determination to lead the regional transformation toward clean energy and smart mobility.

With strong government backing, an expanding industrial base, and growing consumer enthusiasm, the Kingdom is positioning itself as a major player in the global electric vehicle revolution.

As Vision 2030 continues to unfold, events like this underline a powerful message — Saudi Arabia is not only embracing the future of mobility but driving it forward with innovation, ambition, and purpose.

General Motors takes a thoughtful approach to electric vehicle incentives, prioritizing long-term sustainability and compliance while supporting dealers and customers.

General Motors (GM) is taking a proactive and responsible approach to its electric vehicle strategy by revising its recently proposed tax credit program. The company has decided not to claim the $7,500 federal EV tax credit on dealer inventory after the September 30 expiration, emphasizing transparency, compliance, and long-term industry sustainability.

The original program aimed to help GM dealers ease the transition following the expiration of the federal EV subsidy, ensuring that electric vehicles on their lots remained attractive to customers.

The plan would have allowed GM’s in-house lending arm to apply for the tax credit on behalf of dealers and pass on the benefits to EV lease customers. While innovative, GM opted to pause the program after careful consideration and feedback from industry stakeholders, reflecting its commitment to responsible business practices.

“This decision underscores GM’s focus on ethical leadership, long-term strategy, and support for our dealer network,” a company spokesperson said.

By reevaluating the program, GM reinforces its dedication to maintaining trust with policymakers, dealers, and consumers while continuing to drive the adoption of electric vehicles across the U.S.

The company’s forward-looking approach complements ongoing efforts to expand EV offerings and promote sustainable transportation. GM has consistently demonstrated leadership in the electric vehicle market, rolling out models designed to meet growing customer demand while advancing environmental goals.

The pause on the tax credit program allows the company to explore alternative ways to support dealers and customers, ensuring that EV adoption continues to grow smoothly and responsibly.

GM’s decision aligns with a broader industry trend toward thoughtful implementation of incentives, balancing innovation with compliance and long-term planning.

Other automakers, including Ford, have explored similar initiatives, highlighting the sector’s shared commitment to accelerating EV adoption while maintaining transparency and accountability.

This move is expected to benefit GM dealers in the long run by encouraging strategic inventory management and customer-focused leasing solutions.

Analysts view the decision as a sign of GM’s disciplined approach to business growth, demonstrating how the company prioritizes sustainable, market-driven solutions over short-term expedients.

By focusing on careful, responsible strategies, GM continues to lead the automotive industry’s transition to electric mobility, setting a benchmark for innovation, compliance, and customer-centric thinking.

The company’s commitment to sustainable EV growth ensures that both dealers and consumers are positioned to benefit from the rapidly evolving market while supporting environmental and economic objectives.
