Israel Issues First Evacuation Order in South Lebanon Since Ceasefire

Beirut-Israeli forces dropped leaflets over a town in southern Lebanon on Friday ordering residents to evacuate, Lebanese state media reported, marking the first such evacuation order since the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah came into effect.

According to Lebanese state media, the leaflets instructed residents to leave the town, which is located near the boundary of an area in southern Lebanon occupied by Israeli troops.

The town lies close to the zone designated by Israel as an area under its military control inside southern Lebanon, where tensions have persisted despite the ceasefire agreement.

The evacuation warning highlights the continued fragility of the truce between Israel and Hezbollah, with sporadic security incidents and military activity continuing along the border even as diplomatic efforts seek to prevent a broader escalation.

Israeli authorities did not immediately provide additional details regarding the purpose of the evacuation order or any planned military operations in the area.
