We are just trying to achieve our goals without considering the means of attainment of our dreams

In this world we all are running and working hard for a better and enriched life. From students to business men, women everybody are engaged to make their and families lives as close to perfect.

If we see it from the Islamic point of view it is allowed to try to achieve betterment in life but it should be by legal (halal) means.

But sadly we are just trying to achieve our goals without considering the means of attainment of our dreams. Also we are not thankful enough with what we already have by the grace and mercy of Allah.

Allah says in the Quran: “And the life of this world is nothing but play and amusement”. – Surah Al An’am [6:32]

When Allah said that this world is play and amusement but we are making it our major concern as if we will be living here forever.

Running like cheetahs after money, fame, status etc, but forgetting that we are heading one day each closer to our graves.

Let’s see what our Prophet Mohammed peace be upon him said about the provisions of world.

It was narrated from Salamah bin ‘Ubaidullah bin Mihsan Al-Ansari that his father said: “The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever among you wakes up physically healthy, feeling safe and secure within himself, with food for the day, it is as if he acquired the whole world”.

Thus it is to be understood that we should not forget that what we have of world is a bounty of Allah and we should be grateful to him and obey Him in order to live a happy and a content life.

Our Lord! Grant us good in this world and good in the hereafter, and save us from the chastisement of the fire. [2:201]

Oh Allah don’t make this life our greatest concern.
