Saudi Minister of Culture visits India, meets Bollywood stars

New Delhi – Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Culture Prince Badr Bin Abdullah Al-Saud visited India and met high profile Bollywood producers, directors and superstars including Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Saif Ali Khan.

Prince Badr, who is chairman of the Saudi Film Commission, visited India, along with the group of senior officials of the ministry, to finalize talks with the big-shots of the Indian film industry in order to import expertise to the Kingdom.

Prince Badr tweeted, “It was great to meet members of the thriving Indian film community including Bollywood superstars @iamsrk @BeingSalmanKhan @akshaykumar #SaifAliKhan and explore partnership opportunities together!”

The visit turned out to be productive one, as described by the Saudi Film Commission, which will further bolster cultural ties between India and Saudi Arabia.

Abdullah Al-Ayaf Al-Qahtani CEO of the Saudi Film Commission said, “In light of the infrastructure, development and promising talents, the Kingdom is ready to be an attractive location for filmmakers in the world, hoping that this cooperation will result in further development of the film sector in the Kingdom”.

Bollywood in Saudi Arabia will hold training programs and support film-production infrastructure, along with developing the investment opportunities.
