Saudi Arabia’s KFUPM University visits Kashmir’s IUST campus, promotes fully funded scholarships

Srinagar — Representatives of Saudi Arabia’s King Fahd University (KFUPM) visited Kashmir’s Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) to interact with the graduating students and to promote fully-funded scholarships and the procedures to apply, Rising Kashmir reported on Wednesday.

The delegation of Graduate Student Ambassadors of KFUPM, was invited to the event organized by the Office of International Affairs (OIA) at IUST, under the guidance of the Office of the Dean of Academic Affairs, and was presided over by Prof. Shakil A Romshoo, the Vice Chancellor of IUST.

KFUPM is a top global engineering university and is ranked as the third-best university in terms of the number of US patents.

The primary objective of the event was to apprise students about the fully-funded scholarships that KFUPM offers, the application procedures, and foster collaborative initiatives.

Prof. Romshoo urged students to take advantage of the various scholarships and fellowships offered by global universities, and called on the OIA to facilitate this process. He also emphasized that programs like this provide students with opportunities to broaden their horizons.

In addition to Prof. Romshoo, Prof. Manzoor A Malik, the Dean of Academic Affairs, Prof. Lily Want, the Dean of Outreach at IUST, and Dr. Monisa Qadri, the Officer In Charge of International Affairs at IUST, also addressed the participants.

The visiting delegation members, Aaqib Ali, Fahad Khan, and Raihan Goriya, also interacted with the students.

The proceedings of the program were conducted by Joao Afonso Gunza, one of the international engineering students at IUST.
