$214 Million Partnership to Boost Saudi Arabia’s Healthcare Localization and Innovation
Riyadh – A new $214 million strategic partnership has been announced to strengthen Saudi Arabia’s healthcare sector, attract private investment, and accelerate localization of advanced medical services.
The agreement, signed during the Global Health Exhibition in Riyadh, brings together the Ministry of Investment, the Ministry of Health, and ewpartners, marking a significant milestone in the Kingdom’s journey toward achieving the health transformation goals of Vision 2030.
This collaboration focuses on expanding healthcare accessibility and quality across the nation, emphasizing key areas such as dialysis services, rehabilitation medicine, fertility and IVF, and advanced medical diagnostics.
Through this initiative, Saudi Arabia aims to develop world-class healthcare infrastructure and enhance its position as a regional leader in medical innovation.
The partnership underscores the Kingdom’s growing emphasis on public-private collaboration as a driving force for economic diversification and technological advancement.
By integrating global expertise with local capabilities, the initiative will introduce advanced healthcare technologies while localizing specialized medical practices within Saudi Arabia.
This will ensure sustainable growth in medical services and help build a robust foundation for innovation-driven healthcare.
Ammar Altaf, Assistant to the Deputy Minister of Investment, expressed optimism about the partnership’s potential to create a dynamic ecosystem for medical innovation.
He highlighted that the collaboration with ewpartners will attract leading Chinese healthcare technology companies to the Kingdom, bringing with them expertise in high-quality patient care and cutting-edge research.
This move aligns with Saudi Arabia’s vision to enhance the role of the private sector in healthcare, raising its contribution from 40 percent to 65 percent by the end of the decade.
Jessica Wong, Founder and Managing Partner of ewpartners, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia’s healthcare evolution.
She emphasized that the initiative aims to localize proven Asian healthcare models—especially in dialysis, rehabilitation, fertility, and diagnostics—to accelerate innovation and improve access to quality medical care across the country.
Wong noted that the partnership will help enhance patient outcomes while fostering the exchange of knowledge and best practices between Saudi and international experts.
Since establishing its presence in Saudi Arabia in 2017, ewpartners has built a strong record of successful collaborations, investing in major ventures such as Saudi Cloud Computing Co. (Alibaba Cloud–STC JV), Leshines (Lenovo supply-chain platform), Sahm Capital, and J&T Express Middle East.
Its entry into healthcare marks an important expansion of its portfolio and reflects growing confidence in the Saudi market.
One of the key partners in this initiative is EverLife Healthcare, the world’s fourth-largest nephrology and dialysis network. Through this collaboration, the Kingdom will gain access to state-of-the-art technologies and best practices in renal care, contributing to improved patient treatment standards and long-term sustainability of healthcare services.
Beyond its economic impact, the partnership will play a vital role in nurturing Saudi talent and building local expertise in specialized fields.
The Ministries of Investment and Health are prioritizing the training and development of Saudi professionals, ensuring that the country’s growing healthcare infrastructure is supported by a skilled national workforce capable of leading future advancements.
This initiative is a reflection of Saudi Arabia’s broader vision to modernize its healthcare system and create a more inclusive, innovative, and self-sustaining model.
By integrating global technologies with local expertise, the Kingdom aims to deliver high-quality, efficient, and patient-centered healthcare services for all citizens and residents.
The $214 million partnership stands as a testament to the Kingdom’s forward-thinking approach and commitment to improving public health outcomes while fostering international collaboration.
As the healthcare transformation continues, this strategic alliance will not only strengthen medical services but also pave the way for a future defined by innovation, accessibility, and excellence in Saudi healthcare.
