Saudi Arabia ranked 9th Most Powerful Country in the World

Date:

Washington – Saudi Arabia is the only Muslim country that has been ranked as 9th most powerful country in the world by US News and World Report.

The rankings are based on five major factors related to country’s power in terms of its leadership, economic influence, political influence, strong and international alliances and strong military.

Saudi Arabia was ranked 9th last year and it retains the same position in the current year.

United States has always topped the ranking index every year, while its rival Russia has stood at 2nd position.

UAE has missed one position and ranked as 11th most powerful country in the world.

“Saudi Arabia is the giant of the Middle East, with both the vast majority of land and wealth of the Arabian Peninsula falling within its borders. Millions of devout Muslims from around the world participate in a pilgrimage to Mecca each year, believed to be the birthplace of the Muslim prophet Mohammed and the cradle of Islam,” the US News website mentioned.

Saudi Arabia under the leadership of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has been moving drastically upwards towards Kingdom’s Vision-2030. A new Solar project to generate 2800 Megawatts of electricity and the Green Riyad project to plant 7.5 million trees in Riyad have been signed in the recent past, while projects worth billions of dollars are in the pipe-line.
